Chevy Chase

Chevy Chase was chartered in 1952 and is the most active group in the DC Federation. The membership is diverse, representing many professions, interests and ethnic backgrounds. Regular meetings are held at the Westchester Dining Room on Cathedral Avenue in Northwest Washington on the third Wednesday of the month. Several times a year we meet on Saturdays to accommodate those unable to make evening meetings. This year the LO sponsored a workshop in the Fall to help applicants apply for scholarships, and a computer literacy workshop in the Spring open to the community as well as our members. A politically-active group, the members have contributed significantly to the revision of laws in the District eliminating discriminatory provisions in the existing Code. We are also serious contributors to the BPW Foundation and specialize in "women helping women". The dues are $84 per year with membership at the local, DC and National levels, including subscriptions to local (Chevy Chase Chatter), DC (Capital Women) and National (Business Woman) publications as well as associate membership in the US Women's Chamber of Commerce and the National Procurement Council. If you want to meet great people and support working women, contact Beth Lynch or visit our Web site.

Pendulum

Chartered in 1953, Pendulum BPW has a distinguished reputation of presenting award-winning seminars and training programs that center around the BPW/USA Legislative agenda and focus on the key issues facing the women of Washington, D.C. Pendulum BPW’s Mission is to work at the local level to achieve economic equity, employment parity and career opportunities for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information. Pendulum BPW members work in major corporations, local and federal government, private industry and for themselves. We are attorneys, CPA’s, IT professionals, HR specialists, public affairs officers, government employees and full and part-time business owners. Our meetings provide a forum for members and guests to network and mentor each other through the exchange of information, business, political and professional leads. We are committed to helping women achieve academically through support of our BPW/USA Foundation and our Pendulum BPW Scholarship Fund for Re-Entry Women. Pendulum BPW meets at 6:30 p.m. on the 3rd Thursday of each month from September to June at the Shepherd Park Christian Church located at 7900 Eastern Avenue, N.W. (one block from Georgia Avenue near the D.C./Silver Spring line). Our dues are normally $84 per year, but until May, 2006 we have reduced them to $69 per year. A Pendulum member receives membership at the local, state and national levels with subscriptions to state (Capital Women) and national (Business Woman) publications as well as associate membership in the US Women's Chamber of Commerce and the National Procurement Council. Southeast

Southeast was chartered in December 1952. Southeast members have long been leaders in both BPW and the community. Southeast BPW members' vocations are diverse: lawyer, program analyst, administrative officer, travel agent, dietitian, Red Cross coordinator and retired military.
