Legislative Goals

The legislative goals of the DC Federation include:

• Passage of the Alice Paul Equal Rights Amendment (ERA)
• Economic Equity -- Secure equity in the following areas: pay; equal education opportunity at all levels; reform of laws governing Social Security; pension programs and affordable and quality dependent care
• Health -- Support research into and protections for special health care needs of women and children
• Civil Rights -- Support equal rights and remedies for women in all phases of their lives; support affirmative action; work to eliminate sexual harassment, domestic violence and sexual assault/abuse
•  Policy -- Work actively through legal, legislative, educational and other means to improve the situation of District of Columbia female offenders throughout the criminal justice system.
